The Antique Wash finish reproduces the effects of age using a compound wash, first making the rug look old and then lightening hue. Even the brightest colors can be adjusted to smooth pastels through oxidation and texture becomes softer, taking on the feel of a museum rug. The process is normally used on Oriental pieces with traditional designs, but we can apply Antique Wash to almost any oriental rug and replicate an antique look.

Antique Rug Washes:

Heavy Antique Rug Wash: bleaches color to the maximum.

Medium Antique Rug Wash: expect about 50% reduction in colors.

Light Antique Rug Wash: maintains colors, aging the rug with a slight oxidation.
Types of Finishes:

White finish: produces a white or off-white color to the main field of the rug.

Grey finish: results in a grey, silver or platinum color shades.

Distressed: generates authentic looking blemishes, like patches on old, distressed blue jeans.
NOTE: Prior to selecting the type of finish, we advise that you provide Rug Wash Inc. with a picture of your rug. Please keep in mind that original rug color will influence the final color to some degree.
